Our mission
To enhance and catalyze the research and academic missions of the UCLA Health Sciences schools through the delivery of innovative, sustainable and secure IT solutions.
Research Informatics
Our research informatics team serves as the bridge between the research community and IT to ensure we are able to continue building a more robust technological infrastructure for a vibrant, ever changing research environment.

Our growing community will gain the benefits of a large IT organization, including 24/7, 365 days/year support and access to secure, HIPAA-compliant services. To ensure we meet the IT needs of all of the schools, each school has a representative on our governance committees, as well as input and shared oversight of the DGIT project portfolio.

What is DGIT?
DGIT is focusing on refining our support and providing a greater experience for you, our clients in the areas of research, teaching, and administration of the academy. DGIT's efforts are composed of the three pillars:
Client Experience
We are committed to bringing a more personal approach to your support. To this effort, we have rolled out Client Service Pods to all the departments we support to allow our Desktop Support Technicians and Desktop Support Managers to become better acquainted with the technological environment and needs of your department.

Platform Services
We are building a secure and enhanced technology platform and service offerings to meet the needs of the school's missions. We deliver modern and secure information technology that enables effective access, performance, and collaboration while delivering leading-edge support and consultancy that meet organizational needs and expectations.

Academic Technology Services
In support of the academic missions of the schools, we are building an Analytics Center for Education (ACE) to support MD-CQI and decision support; expanding the data science platform and capabilities to accelerate research and innovation; and enabling the implementation of the new curriculum for DGSOM and tools that enable competency-based education.
