Hardware recommendations
What are hardware recommendations?
Purchasing a UCLA Health computer from DGIT’s hardware recommendation ensures that you get a device that perfectly meets both your needs and UCLA Health’s computing requirements, all at a great price.
Our team has in-depth knowledge of the technological requirements needed to connect and perform in our complex computing environment. With this in mind, we compiled a list of desktops, laptops, and printers that meet our standards and offer negotiated pricing. Need something not listed or not sure what you need? Meet with our team for a consultation!
We don’t just find you the right device; we also make purchasing easier by configuring and setting up the device when we receive it. This ensures you can start working as soon as we deliver it to you, and we help you personalize it to meet your needs. Once your device is properly configured, our partners in Desktop Support will work with you to set it up according to your specific needs and coordinate the handoff.
How to make a purchase?
Order your devices, software, or peripherals all on the Computer Hardware/Software Order form. Use the same form for bulk orders or when ordering for someone else on your team.

FAQs
Hospital and clinical staff are supported under ISS and should purchase directly from the Computer Hardware/Software Order form with the options provided by ISS. Note, there are few clinics that are still supported by DGIT. If you are unsure where to purchase from, please contact your BRM.
Purchasing a device from our hardware recommendations is the best option for an expedited order. We also strongly recommend checking and reading through emails from our team to continue moving the purchase order along.
Please avoid purchasing a device outside of DGIT. While it may seem easier to purchase a device through a retailer, these devices will fail to meet our security and technological requirements and be unusable within our environment. To avoid headaches or back-and-forth on your end, we ask that you purchase through the Computer Hardware/Software Order form and, if possible, choose from the recommended devices on this page.
No, we only purchase departmental/UCLA Health owned devices. This includes devices that are up for departmental reimbursement as they will be seen as a personal device.
To ensure your device can connect to our network, we strongly encourage reviewing our Computing Requirements page prior to making any purchase.
Items purchased with this fund will be the property of the resident, including computer hardware and software. Computers purchased with this fund are exempt from standard policy, thus DGIT will not be involved in their procurement, set-up, or ongoing management. Residents should make a direct purchase on their own, making sure to consult their department regarding their purchasing and/or reimbursement policies beforehand.
For computers, there are no restrictions on what you can buy, but we strongly encourage reviewing our Computing Requirements page prior to making any purchase.
