A few years ago, we began transitioning IT services and support for the UCLA School of Dentistry and the UCLA School of Nursing to DGIT. This change would allow us to provide the benefits of a large IT organization, including 24/7, 365 days/year support, and access to secure, HIPAA-compliant services such as UCLA Health’s instances of Box and email.

Throughout this past year, we completed various significant transition projects such as providing everyone with a Mednet account to grant access to UCLA Health IT services and migrating their email to UCLA Health’s HIPAA-compliant email infrastructure. Now that these efforts are complete, we are able to focus on migrating their servers to our stable and secure infrastructure within the San Diego Super Computing Center (SDSC).

Even as we begin to wind down on major transition projects, we continue to look forward to providing support to the schools of Dentistry and Nursing. We are onboarding a key role, a Service Delivery Manager, dedicated to the Schools of Dentistry and Nursing to serve as a business liaison and operational manager to ensure that the unique technical needs of the schools are prioritized and met.
