Dr. Moleta is a current fellow in the combined Clinical Informatics and Surgical Pathology program at UCLA. He is a Native/Indigenous Hawaiian and earned a BA in Economics and MS in Developmental and Reproductive Biology at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. After attending Oregon Health & Science University for medical school, he completed residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at UCSD. Chace’s past research has aimed to address cardiometabolic disease health disparities among indigenous communities, including a project using telemedicine to deliver diabetes specialty care to remote and underserved communities in Hawai‘i. He has also been involved in computer-based image analysis of the retina in infants with Retinopathy of Prematurity. His clinical and research interests include digital pathology, workflow analysis and improvement, and using informatics tools to improve access to care for underserved and vulnerable populations.
