Travis Smith is an incoming Transfusion Medicine and Clinical Informatics fellow for 2027-2029. He is currently an Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology resident at USC/Los Angeles General Medical Center, where he served as Co-Chief Resident from 2025-2026. During residency, he developed a strong interest in using informatics to optimize laboratory workflows. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and Master of Public Health degrees at Touro University California. For his public health capstone project, he analyzed data to draw conclusions about frequent use of emergency medical services in San Francisco. His professional interests also include medical education; as a volunteer lab instructor at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, he has earned Excellence in Medical Student Teaching awards for two consecutive years.
