Recently, a new type of AI tool has taken the tech world by storm: autonomous agents that operate on your computer with minimal input and high levels of access to your data and accounts. The most well-known of these is OpenClaw, but there are several others. In fact, companies like Anthropic and OpenAI are releasing their own versions of these tools. It is important to remember that these tools are not authorized for use at UCLA Health. Although they promise increased productivity, the level of access they require to function is inherently dangerous. Even AI professionals have fallen victim to these tools' unpredictability.
