The UC Womxn in Technology (WIT) Committee proudly continues its annual tradition of recognizing the extraordinary talent, leadership, and impact of women in IT across the UC system through the “UC Womxn Rock IT” campaign. Each year, local WIT chapters nominate individual womxn and teams whose work is advancing innovation, strengthening our technology ecosystem, and modeling inclusive excellence.

In celebration of Women’s History Month, we are proud to showcase the outstanding contributions of womxn in technology at UCLA Health. Orders Application Team
Jessica Partridge, Brittany Sessa, Betty Tseng, & Cheryl Sisk

Jessica is our fearless Orders team lead. She is always positive, prepared and ready to help. She keeps our team focused on long-term goals and initiatives but is also an invaluable asset with daily incidents and investigations. With her help, we can consistently solve emergencies while keeping long term goals on track.

Brittany is an excellent Orders analyst willing to help with any task, no matter the complexity. She is a superb communicator and presenter, able to discuss complex issues in a straightforward and understandable way. She has real world clinical nursing experience, which helps our team triage a wide variety of tickets and requests. And, on top of all of that, she has created an entire library of new workflow documents and SOP’s for the Orders team.

Betty knows nearly every imaginable workflow in CareConnect. The Orders team relies heavily on Betty because she is a perpetual resource for information of any and all kind. Betty knows when and how to say ‘No’ to system build requests that are not aligned with Order’s team goals in a way that still builds trust.

Cheryl has been a fantastic addition to the Orders team, bringing a wealth of knowledge of workflows from large, multi-regional and multi-hospital systems, in CareConnect. She has completely revamped our diet and nourishment orders with dynamic ordering options, and patient allergies, which directly and positively impact patient safety.  She is also an expert Bugzy analyst, with deep knowledge of regulatory concerns and reporting requests.

The Orders team and UCLA are lucky to have Jessica, Brittany, Betty, and Cheryl!

Project Management Intake Team
Christina Lee, Angelica Tsaton, & Lisa Engalla

Christina, Angelica, and Lisa have been reliable and thoughtful partners across multiple projects, consistently helping teams move work forward in a clear and organized way. They demonstrate strong judgment in identifying what matters most and ensuring it is accurately reflected in project documentation. The team's thoughtfulness was especially evident during the Ambient Listening project, where they recognized the significance of an automation form and made sure it was clearly called out in the charter to set the right expectations early. Their attention to detail and end‑user‑centric approach helps many of our end-user facing teams like Customer Care and Enterprise User Engagement.

Ruby Moreno, Principal Voice Specialist

For 30 years, Ruby Moreno, Principal Voice Specialist for Contact Center Solutions, has shaped how patients connect with UCLA Health. Quite literally the voice of UCLA Health, she is heard across ambulatory clinic IVRs, prompts, and patient messaging, serving as the first point of contact for thousands daily. She helped design and build UCLA Health’s first dedicated ambulatory contact center, unifying fragmented phone workflows into a patient‑centered operation. This past year, Ruby led new telephony standards and infrastructure, improving communication, access to care, reliability, scalability, and experiences for patients and care teams across the organization today and into the future.

Time & Attendance Systems Team
Elizabeth Ponce, Vidhya Sathi-Kumari, & Amanda Schnitzius

For over a year, our Time & Attendance Systems team has been working on implementing UKG to be used by over 30K employees. This implementation is very complex and involves working with payroll, human resources, nursing and IT colleagues across our enterprise. This is the first time we have brought together all of these groups together for a shared purpose. Elizabeth's calm and diligent efforts have bridged the gaps. Vidhya's teamwork and drive have helped us through various challenges. Amanda's organization and care have been the glue of our project. I am honored to have these women on our team!
