Guide for Spok Mobile Paging Application

Spok Mobile Paging app is a smartphone application that replaces a physical pager with an app on an iPhone or Android phone, and provides the ability for secure two-way communication between Spok Mobile subscribers.

FOR IPHONE iOS 15+

Turn on notifications if Focus Mode is enabled and turn on Mute Override feature

Be sure to turn on the Override Mute Switch on Spok Mobile App or allow Spok Mobile app to deliver messages if Focus Mode is enabled. If the below steps aren’t taken, you may not be notified when you receive a page.

Do not enable notification summary for Spok Mobile

Notification Summary on iOS 15 provides a summary of app notifications at one time during the day.  Make sure the Spok Mobile app’s toggle is off for ‘Apps in Summary’ in Device Settings. If added, the Spok Mobile app will not notify (play sound) when the user receives any message.

For Spok Mobile to work properly:

  • Allow Push Notification for Spok Mobile on your mobile phone
  • Be sure your alert volume on your phone is not set low or on silent
  • Turn off ‘Low Power Mode’. Be sure you have cellular data and Wi-Fi data turned on at all times
