Russell Kerbel, MD, MBA is the Medical Director for Sepsis Prevention at UCLA Health. Clinically he works as an Academic Hospitalist and an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine. He also serves as a Clinical Documentation Improvement Physician Advisor. As an Epic-Certified Physician Informaticist his operational and research interests include sepsis, high-reliability organizations, clinical documentation improvement and quality improvement.
He received his undergraduate degree in managerial economics from Union College, his MBA in health systems administration from Union Graduate College and his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA.
