Christopher has been with UCLA Health since August 2021. He started as a technology educator in the Philippines and migrated to the United States to teach in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. With his technology initiatives with the school system, he received the 2011 Region 2 Middle School Teacher of the Year awarded by the Louisiana Association of Computer Using Educators (LACUE).
With emerging trends in health information technology, Chris ventured into healthcare and became the Epic Credentialed Trainer for Ochsner Health System in New Orleans. After four years, he was promoted to the Epic Training Supervisor. He led the Epic Training team in different projects, such as Epic go-live training for acquisitions and partnerships, revamped new hire training through self-directed learning and gamification, and provided an efficiency program using Epic’s Signal data. In 2020, Chris moved to Los Angeles to work with AltaMed Health Services as the Epic Training Supervisor. During his time with AltaMed, he improved Epic change communications and polished the Epic new hire curriculum and processes. Overall, Chris has been working with Epic projects since 2013.
Chris received his Master’s in Education in Education Technology Leadership from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2014. He earned his Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in 2023. In addition, he is certified in EpicCare Ambulatory.
