New UCLA Health VPN requirements
Make sure your OS is up to date!

To safeguard our network from vulnerabilities, out-of-date operating systems (OS) will no longer be allowed on the UCLA Health VPN starting Thursday, August 21. This change aligns our VPN standards with our wired and wireless network requirements and ensures all devices connecting to the VPN can receive the latest security updates
Minimum OS Requirement
To connect to VPN, at minimum, your device will need to meet the following OS version requirements:
- Mac: macOS15 (Sequoia), macOS14 (Sonoma), macOS13 (Ventura)
- Windows: Windows 10 version 22H2 (19045) or newer
How to know if your computer is out of date
Starting Thursday, August 7 at 10 p.m., computers that don’t meet OS requirements will receive a pop-up from Global Protect VPN prompting updates.

Updating your computer
If you are connecting to the VPN on a personal or IT-managed device, please update your computer to the required OS. Follow the instructions below to get your computer compliant.
IT-managed computer
Submit a ticket with your computer name to have a technician assist you with the upgrade. Submit a ticket →
Personal computer
Upgrade your Windows or Mac computer to meet the minimum OS standard.
If your personal computer does not support a newer OS, we recommend purchasing a new computer with a compliant OS.
Accessing our tools without VPN
View a list of commonly used tools that can be accessed via the web and do not require VPN access.
