Meeting Summary now available on Zoom

In today’s world of back-to-back Zoom meetings, keeping track of discussions, key points, and action items can be challenging. Zoom is addressing this with its new AI Companion feature, Meeting Summary, coming soon. This feature provides meeting hosts with a detailed summary, including a brief recap and actionable next steps, delivered conveniently via email.

While Meeting Summary is available, it is not enabled for each meeting. The host will need to turn the feature on for each meeting. Participants will be alerted when this feature is enabled. 

Recommendations:

  • Meeting Summary should not be used in any discussion where Protected Health Information (PHI) or any other sensitive or Restricted Information (RI) is being discussed.
  • Zoom AI’s data protection practices at external organizations may differ from ours. Exercise caution when sharing information in external meetings where Zoom AI is enabled. 
  • Review the summary Zoom AI creates before sharing with your participants.

Zoom AI is coming soon and will be available in your Zoom toolbar as an icon once available.
