Joe Penaflor is the Outpatient Technical Training Lead for the UCLA Informatics Training Team. Joe began his career on the Training Team at UCLA in 2015 for the Beaker implementation, and has remained there ever since. Before then, he used his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree in his own private practice, serving the San Diego community. He also found time to move into academia where he taught primarily anatomy, and physiology college courses. He enjoyed it so much that he decided to focus on teaching and gave up his practice. He eventually became a college dean and college president. He then used his knowledge and skills of andragogy to transition into the world of training and instructional design here at UCLA.
