Analytics Ready Data Sets
Analytics Ready Data Sets are pre-staged tables optimized for reporting and analytics. They are curated based on the needs of different Groups or Centers of Excellence in UCLA Health: Clinical, Financial, Operational, etc. They provide data elements to support various needs of these CoEs.
- Data elements needed to calculate measures and solve use cases for provider performance, patient access and clinic throughput
- Data elements needed to report on Quality measures
- Data elements needed to report on eligibility of care, claims and payments (Professional and Hospital billing)
Users are able to explore these data sets quickly and easier because they have user friendly column names and simplified data models.
The Office of Health Informatics & Analytics (OHIA) has curated many Analytics Read Data Sets, some of which are described below.

These data sets are being enhanced continually. If you have specific enhancement requests, e.g. adding more data elements, please send us a request via the Data Dictionary Dashboard in Collibra. Click on the yellow button to the bottom left shown below.
Clinical Data Mart (CDM)
The Clinical Data Mart contains Outpatient and Inpatient clinical data of UCLA patient population.

Finance Data Mart (FDM)
The Finance Data Mart contains Professional and Hospital Billing data and Managed Care / Tapestry data.

Ambulatory Data Mart (ADM)
The Ambulatory Data Mart contains the data elements needed to support measures and use cases for provider performance, patient access, and clinic throughput. This data mart supports reporting on ambulatory operations and complements the existing Clinical and Finance Data Marts.
